Miansai Size Guide
Getting the right size is everything with jewelry. Here's how to measure correctly and what to expect from fit, so your order is right the first time.
Ordering internationally? We are unable to offer exchanges on international orders, so please double-check your size before ordering. The steps below take two minutes.
How to Measure Your Wrist
Wrap a soft tape measure snugly around your wrist just above the wrist bone. Slip one finger between the tape and your wrist to account for natural movement. That measurement is your wrist size. Use it to find your size below.
Don't have a tape measure? Use a strip of paper, mark where it overlaps, then measure that length flat with a ruler. You can also compare against a bracelet you already own and like the fit of: measure its full length end to end.
For the most accurate result, measure two or three times and use the largest. Avoid measuring right after exercise, in hot conditions, or after a salty meal. Temporary swelling from any of these can push you toward a size that ends up too large once it subsides.
Rope & Bead Bracelets
Rope and bead bracelets are designed to sit just above the wrist bone. Fit is intentionally relaxed, not tight; you should be able to slide a finger underneath comfortably.
If you're between sizes, size up. Rope styles have minimal give and will not stretch significantly over time.
M is our most popular men's size and S is our most popular women's size.
| Size | Wrist Size (in.) | Wrist Size (cm.) |
|---|---|---|
| S | Up to 7 in. | Up to 17.75 cm. |
| M | Up to 7.5 in. | Up to 19 cm. |
| L | Up to 8 in. | Up to 20.25 cm. |
| O/S | Adjustable up to 8.5 in. | Adjustable up to 21.5 cm. |
Leather Bracelets
Leather bracelets fit more generously than our other styles, and leather relaxes slightly with wear.
If you're between sizes, size down. A leather bracelet that starts loose will only get looser.
| Size | Wrist Size (in.) | Wrist Size (cm.) |
|---|---|---|
| S | Up to 7 in. | Up to 17.75 cm. |
| M | Up to 7.5 in. | Up to 19 cm. |
| L | Up to 8 in. | Up to 20.25 cm. |
Chain Bracelets
Chain bracelets have a more fitted feel than rope and leather styles.
If you're at the top of a size range or between sizes, size up. If you prefer a looser, stackable look, size up one regardless.
Our largest chain bracelets fit wrists up to 7.75 in. / 19.75 cm. We do not currently offer chain bracelets for wrists larger than this.
| Size | Wrist Size (in.) | Wrist Size (cm.) |
|---|---|---|
| S | Up to 6.75 in. | Up to 17.25 cm. |
| M | Up to 7.25 in. | Up to 18.5 cm. |
| L | Up to 7.75 in. | Up to 19.75 cm. |
Cuffs
Miansai cuffs come in two styles, each with a different fit approach.
Open back cuffs have a small gap that allows for minor adjustment. They are not meant to be bent repeatedly, so order the size closest to your wrist measurement rather than relying on adjustment to compensate.
Enclosed cuffs (such as the Screw Cuff) have a bar closure that fully encircles the wrist. These have no adjustability, so getting the right size before you order is especially important.
Cuff sizes differ in diameter and length only; the thickness, weight, and profile of the design are identical across sizes.
M is our most popular men's size and S is our most popular women's size.
| Size | Wrist Size (in.) | Wrist Size (cm.) |
|---|---|---|
| S | Up to 6.5 in. | Up to 16.5 cm. |
| M | Up to 7 in. | Up to 17.75 cm. |
Necklaces
Necklace fit comes down to length. Here is where each standard length sits:
| Length | Where It Sits |
|---|---|
| 16 in. / 40.5 cm. | At the base of the neck, along the collarbone |
| 18 in. / 45.75 cm. | Just below the collarbone |
| 20 in. / 50.75 cm. | Between the collarbone and the chest |
| 22 in. / 55.75 cm. | At the top of the chest |
| 24 in. / 61 cm. | Mid-chest |
When in doubt, go longer. Chains with pendants sit and read shorter than plain chains of the same length, and most customers who exchange a necklace exchange it for a longer one. To check a length at home, hold a piece of string or a measured shoelace around your neck.
Rings
Miansai rings are available in US whole sizes 5–12 for most styles; the available range for each style is shown on its product page. We do not offer half sizes.
How to find your size: Measure the finger you plan to wear the ring on, not just any finger. For the most accurate result, measure at the end of the day when your fingers are slightly warmer and at their largest. Avoid measuring when your hands are cold, after exercise, in the heat, or after a salty meal; swelling is temporary and will give you an inaccurate result.
Not sure where to start? Pick up our ring sizer for the most accurate fit at home. We strongly recommend it before ordering, especially for international orders.
Between sizes? Size up. Rings that are slightly large can be adjusted by a local jeweler; rings that are too small cannot be resized without risk of damage to the design.
Keep in mind that wider band styles fit more snugly than narrow ones. If you are ordering a wider band and are between sizes, we strongly recommend sizing up.
